It is a rhyme that teaches about the will power and determination of the spider to climb again despite being washed away by the rain.It conveys a message to the students that we should keep trying till we reach our goal and success. Class 1 B was awarded the first prize for Elocution Competition between the classes 1-2 category. Their poem was ' The Little Turtle ' by Vachel Lindsay . The poem describes the action of a small turtle living in a box and its attempts to control over its surroundings. Class 1A was awarded the second prize. Their poem was ' The Swing ' by Robert Louis Stevenson. The poem captures the excitement of a child after getting up on a swing. The child moves beyond the garden wall to discover the beauty of the nature. Class 2A came third in the Elocution Competition. Their poem was 'Daddy fell into the pond' by Alfred Noyes. This poem is about a family's reaction when their father accidentally falls into a pond, which instantly brings joy and laughter to everyone around. Class 3B was awarded the first prize for Elocution Competition between classes 3-4 category. Their poem was ' Sick ' by Shel Silverstein which us about a girl named Peggy Ann who makes up silly excuses to avoid school, pretending to be very ill, but the moment she hears it is Saturday she suddenly feels fine and rushes out to play. It humorously shows how children sometime fake sickness to skip school. Class 4A came second for the Elocution Competition.Their poem was ' Once, I laughed my socks off ' by Steve Atwell. This poem is about a child's expression of the adventure his socks had when on a sojourn after an episode of laughter. Class 4B stood third in the Elocution Competition. Their poem was ' Be the best of whatever you are' by Douglas Malloch. The poem delivers that every role in life is valuable, and one should give the best no matter how big and small their position may seem. It strives a positive attitude.
